Say Hello To Our Team
Dr. Beata Weiermiller
Founder & President
I am a practicing physician, entrepreneur, and avid animal LOVER.
Volunteering at Detroit Animal Care has fueled my passion to help the homeless dogs in the city. My goal is to improve the lives of shelter Detroit dogs one dog at a time.
I started fostering dogs over 6 years ago and have fostered over 30 dogs helping them adjust to being in a home and finding their furever family. My favorite dogs to foster are the seniors and those who are vision and/or hearing-impaired. In fact, my one foster fail was an 11-year-old Brussels Griffon mix of about 8 lbs who is now 15 and going strong My life goal is to make a difference in a dog's life by loving them one by one until they each find their family.
Raj is the Director of Regulatory Affairs at DTE Energy and is a certified public accountant. He is excited to be part of Detroit District 5 Animal Alliance Board. Raj and his wife Susan both graduated from Wayne State University and have been long supporters of Wayne State and other organizations in Detroit.
Fundraising and Event Planning
By day, I am a Healthcare Engineer serving others in the primary care setting. I am a proud graduate of The University of Michigan and started my career in Emergency Medical Services. In my off time, I have developed a passion for animal advocacy and rescue. I am committed to using my skills and talents to help the community, both four-legged and two-legged. I have three rescue dogs, Lincoln, Ford, and Olena, who continue to amaze me each day and bring so much joy to my world!
Social Media and Foster Coordinator
As a stay-at-home mom, I wear many hats. One of them just so happens to be an animal advocate being a voice for the voiceless. My passion for animals started long ago but I started my own bit of resuming six years ago. That's when we adopted our first shelter pup Zoey in the picture above. Since then we have adopted another and fostered several more.
My goal is to help save one dot at a time and educate others on the importance of spay and neutering your pets.
