Say Hello To Our Team

Dr. Beata Weiermiller

Founder & President

I am a practicing physician, entrepreneur, and an avid animal LOVER.
Volunteering at Detroit Animal Care has fueled my passion to help the homeless dogs in the city. My goal is to improve the lives shelter Detroit dogs one dog at a time.

Marie Catanzaro

I started fostering dogs over 6 years ago and have fostered over 30 dogs helping them adjust to being in a home and finding their furever family. My favorite dogs to foster are the seniors and those who are vision and/or hearing impaired.  In fact, my  one foster fail was an 11 year old Brussels Griffon mix about 8 lbs who is now 15 and going strong  My life goal is to make the difference in a dog's life by loving them one by one until they each find their family.

Dr. Catherine Pokropek

Social Media & Fundraising

I have been a practicing physician since 2011.  From a young age, I have had a passion for animals and continue to be involved in various advocacy efforts to support animals in the metro Detroit area. I believe one person can make a difference, and when you get a group of people together for a good cause amazing things can happen. Working with District 5, I hope to bring awareness to the many pups searching for their happily ever after.
